Government Officials Assess Rural Development Schemes And Panchayat Raj Committees

Today, members of the Central Gramin Abhivruddhi and Panchayat Raj Standing Committees visited various locations in Bengaluru Rural District to review and gather information about central developmental schemes. The committee members, consisting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members from different states, including Lok Sabha members Talarari Rangayya, Geeta Ben Vajasing Rathwa, Mohammad Javed, E.K.P. Chinraj, Vivek Narayan, Janardhan Mishra, Rajya Sabha members Mohammad Abdulla, Ajay Pratap Singh, along with nine members led by D.R. Shekhar, Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, assessed the district. Dr. Shivasankar N., District Collector, warmly welcomed the committee members to Kannamangala village in Devanahalli taluk and provided them with information about the district. The team also observed the sale of products by Sanjeevini Sangha women’s group. Later, Dr. Anuradha K.N., District Chief Executive Officer of Panchayat Raj, presented information through a visual display about the progress of central and state-sponsored schemes. The officials then visited Tindlu village in Jalaigere Gram Panchayat and inspected the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA canal, constructed as part of the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. They reviewed the construction work of a road built under the 15th Finance Commission in the Gram Panchayat premises. At Mandibele Gram Panchayat, they examined the plantation of sandalwood saplings under the Social Forestry Department and inspected the Hippe Nerale trees developed through the Department of Sericulture. They also observed various silk-related products made in the village.
