Villagers and students blocked the state highway at Sindhanur in the district on Tuesday, demanding stoppage of transport buses. At Budiwala village buses of various units including Sindhanur and Siruguppa are not parked. As a result, students going to Sindhanur and Siruguppa for studies are facing difficulties, the protesters said.
Students and villagers blocked the highway and staged a protest for nearly two hours. The Rural Police and the Manager of the transport unit rushed to the protest site and accepted the students’ request.After listening to the grievances of the students, the Depot Controller ordered the buses of all units in Raichur and Ballari to be stopped at Boodiwala. From now on, all buses will stop at Boodiwala, he said. The students later called off the protest.
