Vijay Kumar Sinha, the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and BJP MLA, has made serious allegations, claiming that criminals in the state enjoy the patronage of the district administration. Following a deadly attack on a family that resulted in two deaths and four injuries, Sinha accused corrupt officers of providing protection to criminals in Lakhisarai. In a press statement, Sinha asserted, The criminals are being protected in Lakhisarai by corrupt officers, and hence their morale is high, not hesitant to commit heinous crimes like murders, rapes, kidnappings. The Lakhisarai SP is a corrupt officer. The home department is owned by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who has appointed corrupt officers in Lakhisarai, Munger, and other districts. He further claimed that criminals are fearless, knowing that individuals in the government would shield them. Sinha called out Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy, stating that they are not entitled to stay in power on moral grounds. He appealed to the governor to take cognizance of the matter and impose President’s rule in Bihar to address the prevailing lawlessness. Sinha highlighted another incident in Sitamarhi, where six persons lost their lives in a hooch tragedy on Saturday. He cited the need for urgent intervention, emphasizing a complete breakdown of law and order in Bihar. The opposition leader expressed concern over recent incidents, including the killing of three people by sand mafias in Jamui district. Sinha is set to visit Sitamarhi to assess the situation firsthand. The accused individuals in the Lakhisarai incident fled the scene after committing the crime.
