On behalf of District Backward and Very Backward Classes Public Awareness Forum, President TN Srinivas informed that a brainstorming programme will be held on October 30 at Government Employees’ Hall demanding the implementation of Kantharaj report of permanent Backward Classes Commission.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, he said that Siddaramaiah, who was the Chief Minister in 2018, had ordered the preparation of the Kantharaj report. 2.15 lakh government employees visited every house and prepared a 56-point report, which cost Rs 165 crore.
 He said that even though it has been five years since the report was prepared, the government is delaying the implementation of the report without disclosing it.
He said that this programme was organized as it is necessary to show the strength of the backward classes for the implementation of the report, and in addition to putting pressure on the government, the outlines of the next struggle will be discussed. He said that this program is starting from Shimoga district and will be held in all district headquarters later.The program will be inaugurated by MLC BK Hariprasad. On this occasion, the new gram panchayat President, Vice-President and members of the backward and most backward classes of the district will be honoured, Coordinator Mohan said.
