An FIR has been registered at the Cubbon Park police station against Sharda Catering of Gayatri Vihara for allegedly serving subpar food to police personnel on duty during a recent World Cup cricket match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Worms were discovered in the mozzarella cheese provided to the police personnel, leading to a non-serious case (NCR) being registered for serving inadequate food. During a cricket match between Australia and Pakistan on the 20th, 970 policemen were deployed for security. The stadium’s management board had arranged meals for the on-duty policemen, and they entrusted the responsibility of food supply to a program organization, Sharda Catering of Palace Maidan Gayatri Vihar. The police were provided with menthya bath (fenugreek rice), curd, and banana fruits. However, while consuming their meals, a worm was found in the curd, leading to discontent among the police personnel, who promptly brought the matter to the attention of their senior officials. Under initial pressure, an NCR was filed in response to the incident. Nevertheless, an FIR has now been registered following a private petition submitted to the court, as per the court’s instructions, and an ongoing investigation is underway.
