Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology Department KH Muniyappa inaugurated on Tuesday the Annabhagya Scheme stall, one of the five guarantees of the government, constructed in the premises of the Mysore Exhibition Authority as part of the Dasara Mahotsav 2023.
One of the five guarantees of the new government is the ambitious scheme Annabhagya Yojana, this scheme has helped the poor people to have two meals a day and lead a comfortable life.
This project has been implemented with the objective of making Karnataka free from hunger.
An estimated 4.42 crore people of the state have benefited from this Annabhagya scheme. At present 5 kg of food grain for each beneficiary and Rs.170/- for the remaining 5 kg are being paid directly to the beneficiary’s account through DBT.
Through this scheme every Aditya and Antyodaya family gets certain food items and nutritious food thus every family lives with self-respect.
Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies Department GC Prakash, Food Department Joint Director Kumuda and officials were present in the programme.
