In a heartbreaking incident, a 40-year-old cancer patient lost his life while being transported to a Bengaluru hospital in an ambulance. The tragic accident occurred on Tuesday morning near Bommanahalli village on National Highway 4, close to Nelamangala. The victim, identified as Vijay Kumar from Chitradurga, was en route to Bengaluru for cancer treatment when the accident took place. Preliminary investigations suggest that the ambulance’s brakes were not functioning properly at the time of the collision. The ambulance collided with a goods carrier vehicle, resulting in the tragic outcome. The driver of the goods carrier vehicle reportedly fled the scene following the accident. A case has been registered at the Nelamangala Traffic Police Station, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway. The accident has raised concerns about the safety of vehicles used for medical transportation and the need for stringent checks and maintenance to prevent such tragic accidents in the future.
