Undertrial Prisoner Dies

An undertrial prisoner, who was admitted to a hospital  after he complained of severe stomach pain, died. Venkatesh, an undertrial from Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh, was arrested on October 11 by Kanakapura Forest department officials on charges of stealing elephant tusks. He was lodged in  District sub-jail as an undertrial.

He was admitted to the hospital on Monday night after he complained of severe stomach pain and died without responding to treatment. However, the exact cause of his death is yet to be ascertained. The post-mortem will be conducted in the presence of a judge at ramanagara government hospital and the exact cause of his death will be ascertained after the post-mortem report is received.
