The Congress party is set to release its second list of candidates for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled for November 17. The announcement of the first list, which included 144 candidates, was made on Sunday. The remaining 86 candidates are expected to be revealed in two phases over the next two to three days. According to former chief minister and state unit head Kamal Nath, most of the candidates for the remaining seats have already been finalized, with only a few left to be discussed. Kamal Nath acknowledged that while many individuals were disappointed after being denied tickets, the party had to make tough decisions when selecting candidates. He emphasized that candidate selection took into account the social structure of each district and Assembly seat, noting that there were 4,000 applications for the 230 seats. When asked about his own candidature from his hometown of Chhindwara, Kamal Nath mentioned that he had no interest in contesting the election and was not concerned about it. He revealed that Lok Sabha MP Nakul Nath, in collaboration with him, would announce the candidate for Chhindwara. The final decision would be made by the central leadership in Delhi. The second list of candidates is eagerly anticipated by Congress supporters and will play a crucial role in the party’s electoral strategy for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections.
