Mangalore
Tensions have flared in Mangalore as a man named Zakir, also known as Taliban in the port area, shared a video on social media expressing support for Hamas militants amidst the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. The conflict has seen hundreds of casualties and more than three thousand deaths. Zakir, in his video, referred to Hamas militants as patriots and called for prayers for their victory, urging members of the World Kabaristan Sangh to offer separate prayers for this cause. He expressed his wishes for victory to the fighters of Hamas in Palestine. The video has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage. Hindu organizations have strongly opposed Zakir’s statements and demanded his immediate arrest by local police. It is worth noting that there are over 12,000 coastal Kannadigas in Israel, a region targeted by Palestinian Hamas militants. Despite the ongoing conflict, reports suggest that the Kannadigas working as home nurses in the area are safe.
