Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj has accused the Indian government of attempting to silence AAP’s Rajya Sabha member, Sanjay Singh, who is seen as a powerful opposition voice. Bhardwaj stated that the recent raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Singh’s residence were aimed at silencing him because he never hesitated to raise public issues against the central government.

Bhardwaj criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government, alleging that they were conducting baseless raids out of desperation, as they fear being voted out of power in the 2024 elections. He highlighted that the investigations had been ongoing for 15 months and had involved raids on over 1,000 places, including businesses and politicians.

The AAP strongly condemned the raids and suggested that the government was planting fake news through sources to create suspicion. Bhardwaj asserted that the ED would not find anything incriminating at Singh’s residence.

Sanjay Singh was arrested by the ED in connection with a money laundering case related to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. The arrest has sparked controversy and raised concerns about political motivations behind the actions of government agencies in India.

As the political climate in India continues to be heated, opposition figures like Sanjay Singh are often under scrutiny and face legal action from government agencies, leading to allegations of political vendettas.
