Indian Archers Secure Gold And Silver In Compound Men’s Individual

India is set to claim gold and silver medals in the Compound Men’s Individual archery competition at the 19th Asian Games. World Champion Ojas Deotale and compatriot Abhishek Verma both advanced to the final after defeating their Korean opponents in the semifinals. In the first semifinal, Abhishek Verma secured a 147-145 victory over Joo Jaehoon of the Republic of Korea. Verma took an early lead and maintained his advantage throughout the match. In the second semifinal, Ojas Deotale, who had previously set a new Asian Games Record with a perfect score of 150 in the quarterfinal, defeated Yang Jaewon of Korea with a score of 150-146. This impressive performance ensures that India will clinch both the gold and silver medals in the Compound Men’s Individual event. Abhishek Verma had previously won a silver medal in this event at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. In addition to the success in the men’s competition, India also secured a medal in the Compound Women’s Individual event as Jyothi Surekha Vennam defeated her compatriot Aditi Gopichand Swami in the semifinal to advance to the final.
