Tourists can now safely travel to popular destinations in Himachal Pradesh, including Kasauli, Shimla, Chail, Narkanda, Kinnaur, Dharamsala, McLeodganj, Palampur, Dalhousie, Khajjiar, and Chamba, as road access to these locations has been restored, according to Director of Tourism, Amit Kashyap. Despite recent heavy rains causing disruptions in some areas, the government has worked diligently to restore road connectivity in Chamba, Kangra, Shimla, and other districts, allowing tourists to explore the state’s scenic beauty once again. Kashyap also mentioned that tourists can currently take advantage of discounts at most hotels in the state. Tourism is a significant contributor to the State Gross Domestic Product (SGDP), accounting for seven percent, and it provides approximately 14.42 percent of direct and indirect employment in the state. For travelers, there are daily flights operated by Alliance Air from Delhi to Shimla, with further connections to Dharamsala. The state government is subsidizing fares on this route, making it more affordable for visitors. Additionally, Pawan Hans Ltd offers helicopter services under the UDAN scheme, connecting Chandigarh to Shimla, Rampur, Kullu, Mandi, and Dharamsala. Himachal Pradesh’s picturesque landscapes and serene destinations make it a popular choice for tourists seeking a peaceful getaway.
