The Excise Police have seized Goa liquor and a vehicle, together worth Rs 53,08,000. The officials carried out a massive operation and caught bootleggers on NH-4 near Suvarna Soudha here. The truck travelling from Goa was loaded with plywood, while the liquor consignment was kept inside the vehicle. The crime came to light when Excise Police searched the vehicle. They have seized 18 different types of liquor and beer bottles in 208 cartons. The accused Virendra Kalpanath Mishra (34) of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. The value of the liquor and the vehicle is put at Rs 28,04,000 and Rs 25,04,000, respectively.
