In an extensive operation, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police conducted thorough searches on inter-state buses arriving in the city after receiving credible information about potential drug transportation activities. Buses traveling from various states, including Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, are a daily sight in Bengaluru, making the city a crucial transportation hub. Acting swiftly, the CCB police initiated checks at key bus terminals such as Majestic Bus Stand, Yeshwantpur, Gandhinagar, and K.R. Market, where buses from other states frequently arrive. The inspections encompassed a meticulous examination of parcels, luggage spaces, and all accessible areas within the buses. Specially trained canine units were deployed to assist in the searches, ensuring a comprehensive examination of the vehicles. The operation represents a concerted effort by law enforcement to combat the illicit transportation and sale of drugs within the city. CCB Joint Commissioner, S.D. Sharanappa, stated, we had received credible information regarding the transportation of drugs in private buses arriving from other states. Consequently, a systematic inspection was carried out across all buses.
