Thus, he advocated the need for a comprehensive policy to protect large numbers of wild animals and to make zoos even more informative and audience-friendly to inform today’s children about various fauna and flora. The Minister also instructed the authorities to prepare and submit a comprehensive report on the need to upgrade the zoos in Gadag and Kalburgi. As there is no dense forest in Bidar district, children do not have real information about wild animals. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is also the Finance Minister, has announced the construction of a protected area for Krishna animals in Bidar in this budget, and if a zoo is established in the district, the present generation will get a chance to see and learn about wild animals. In this background, he ordered to formulate an action plan for the establishment of a zoo. On the same occasion, the Minister released the annual report and newsletter of Sri Chamarajendra Zoo, Mysore for the year 2022-23.
