The State Government’s much awaited Griha Lakshmi project was given electric start on Wednesday.
A total of 1.10 crore beneficiaries availed the Rs 2,000 scheme in a grand function held at Maharaja College grounds. Minister of Women and Child Welfare Lakshmi Hebbalkar welcomed the dignitaries present in the ceremony. The Minister said that I am happy that my department is implementing such a project which is unique in the world in the home constituency of the Chief Minister. She thanked everyone who contributed to the programme.
I remember the people of my rural constituency from the platform of this huge event. It is because of his blessings that I am allowed to reach this level today. People of the whole field call me house daughter and considered as a member of their family.
When I was walking in the constituency before the last assembly elections, the people of the constituency, especially the women, were crying. They were all shaken by the price rise. They were lamenting that it was difficult to manage the family. I did not have the power to comfort them. But, I was confident that our government will come to power and I will wipe their tears. I think this is the meaningful moment of my life.
