Decision To Reduce Price Of Cylinders An Election Gimmick, Jagadish Shettar

Isn’t the reduction in the price of cylinders in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections an election gimmick. The Congress had announced guarantee schemes ahead of the assembly elections. Former CM Jagadish Shettar said he had announced guarantees in his budget as well.

Speaking to media persons in the city, he said that the Grihalakshmi scheme has been officially launched on Wednesday.   It is not right to call it a gimmick. Even when there was a BJP government in the past, he had organised a programme to launch a government scheme. He also held a meeting of beneficiaries of central government schemes.  Instead of being such a gimmick, let us welcome the pro-people schemes of the state government and not just criticise it, he said. Talking about the fact that clubs and bars have been permitted throughout the night, he said, the normal timings are still being retained. How can you say this in order to criticise.   Isn’t this what happened in your government? In the past, we have said the mismanagement of the BJP government wherever it has to be told. I have the courage to say the mistake I made that day even today. In the last three to four months, big projects were sanctioned and tenders were called. It did not have the consent of the Finance Department. Siddaramaiah then presented the 14th budget after doing all the calculations, he said.
