Minister of Small-scale Industries and Public Enterprises Sharanabasappa Darshanapur directed officials in the district to be cautious about transfer of government land ownership.
At an official meeting, the Minister directed officials of the Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC) to provide a list of land pertaining to Small Industries in the district.
He said the price for land in the district is very high. Hence, he said that officials should take precautions to prevent encroachment of department land. In case of any encroachment, vacate it immediately and fence the properties and protect the same, he said.
A land of five acres has been allotted in Ariyadka on Puttur- Sullia route for the development of an industrial estate, he said, and directed the officials to take necessary steps to implement the project.The Minister also sought information on various small industrial units proposed in the district and directed the officials to conduct a survey for the setting up of industries. He also held discussions with the officials for the setting up of small industrial units in the proposed plastic park being developed in the district. District Industries Department Deputy Director Manjunath Hegde, KSSIDC Assistant Manager Rayappa and District Khadi and Village Development Department Officer Navajyothi Nayak were present.
