Everyone has to cooperate for smooth conduct of census without heeding to misconceptions

The survey being conducted as per the guidelines of the State Backward Classes Commission is being promoted as a caste census. However, this is a social and educational survey, not a caste census, clarified Commission member CM Kundagol.
He was speaking at a social and educational survey progress review meeting held at the Zilla Panchayat hall.
The survey was initially hampered by some technical issues. There were complaints about technical difficulties while entering the sub-caste column. Now all the issues have been resolved, he said.
District In-charge Secretary Vipul Bansal said, the surveyors said that some people are not providing correct information during the survey due to fear of being deprived of government facilities. They should be made aware again and the survey should be completed by collecting correct information.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan said, the survey is facing technical difficulties in the hilly areas of Khanapur taluk. However, the surveyors are visiting every house and carrying out the survey work neatly.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rahul Shinde explained, During the survey, it was seen that some people were hesitant to provide information related to the economy. It seems that some people are hesitant to provide information related to the economy during the survey. This is a misconception. Full information should be provided, he appealed.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner B Shubha said, the survey has received a good response in the city limits.
S Harsha, Deputy Director of the Backward Classes Welfare Department, said, there are 11.85 lakh families in the district. Due to network problems, we have decided to conduct a survey for 16.711 families through camps. 10,200 surveyors are working and 30.55 percent of the survey has been completed in the district so far. The survey has been expedited as 500 additional staff have been provided.
36 surveyors who completed 100 percent of the survey work in the district were honored.
