In a scathing verbal assault, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut criticized Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s recent statements claiming that his involvement in the saffron government was solely for the advancement of Maharashtra and the propagation of the ideals of historical figures like Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Raut dismissed Pawar’s assertions as hollow and baseless, raising questions about Pawar’s previous records in terms of development during his four stints as Deputy Chief Minister. Raut went on to criticize the BJP, accusing them of promoting communal unrest and spreading communal hatred across India, including Maharashtra. Raut also challenged Ajit Pawar to clarify how he intended to uphold the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar when the current government was functioning in a manner that disregards the constitution and operates in a ‘dictatorial manner. Additionally, Raut referred to former Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s recent comments mocking Ajit Pawar’s readiness to assume the role of Deputy Chief Minister. Raut criticized Koshyari for his comments and called on Ajit Pawar to respond fittingly. Taking a swipe at Ajit Pawar’s recent switch from the Nationalist Congress Party to the BJP, Raut highlighted that Pawar’s political career had flourished under the guidance of his uncle Sharad Pawar. Raut questioned why, if Ajit Pawar wasn’t driven by a hunger for power, he had split from his own uncle’s party and taken over its leadership. The fiery exchange between Raut and Pawar underscores the ongoing political dynamics in Maharashtra, where rivalries and alliances continue to shape the state’s political landscape.
