Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has presented the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, along with a citation and a cheque, to Gulam Mohammad Dar, the father of Martyr civilian Mohammad Umar Dar. The Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak (Posthumously) was conferred upon Mohammad Umar Dar by President Droupadi Murmu. Mohammad Umar Dar and his brother, Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, who was an SPO in the J&K Police, tragically lost their lives on March 26, 2022, when terrorists attacked their house in Chattabugh Budgam. During the ceremony at Raj Bhawan, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid tribute to Mohammad Umar Dar and commended his exceptional bravery in saving the lives of his family members. The event was attended by Lt. Gen Rajiv Ghai, GOC 15 Corps, and other family members of Mohammad Umar Dar. The recognition of Mohammad Umar Dar’s courageous act and the honor bestowed upon him highlight the sacrifices made by individuals to protect and save lives, even in the face of adversity.
