A catastrophic sequence of accidents unfolded in Kalyan city under the jurisdiction of the Banasawadi traffic police station as a lorry careened into eight vehicles, resulting in a fatality and severe injuries to two others. The unfortunate incident claimed the life of Nemraj (37), a newlywed resident of Yalahanka with roots in Hassan. Nemraj had tied the knot just six months ago and was employed at a private firm. The collision occurred when a heavily-loaded construction materials lorry, en route from Hindupur to KR Puram, collided with a string of vehicles, leaving behind a trail of destruction. Among the casualties, the bike rider, Nemraj, bore the brunt of the impact and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Tragically, despite prompt medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, Muthuraj and Rajesh, occupants of a car caught in the collision, sustained injuries that required medical treatment. An investigation into the incident unearthed the alarming truth that the lorry driver, Chandrasekhar, was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The authorities wasted no time in taking action, promptly arresting Chandrasekhar for his recklessness and dangerous conduct on the road. The collision not only claimed a life but also sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the perils of impaired driving and the dire consequences it can lead to. As the community mourns the loss of Nemraj and extends their heartfelt wishes for the recovery of Muthuraj and Rajesh, this tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the imperative need for responsible and sober driving. The authorities are urging citizens to prioritize safety on the roadways and to shun the dangers of driving under the influence, as it not only endangers the lives of those behind the wheel but also innocent bystanders and fellow commuters.
