Gurugram
In anticipation of the proposed Jal Abhishek Yatra scheduled for August 28 in Nuh, Gurugram, security measures have been significantly enhanced to prevent any potential untoward incidents. Despite the denial of permission by the local administration, Hindu groups are reportedly planning to carry out the yatra. The Nuh administration had already declined permission for the yatra due to the upcoming meeting of the G20 Sherpa group scheduled in Nuh from September 3 to 7. Despite this denial, there are indications that certain organizations have invited people from Haryana and neighboring states to converge in Nuh on August 28. To ensure public safety and maintain law and order, the Nuh Police have taken various steps. Adequate police personnel have been deployed, and as a preventive measure, internet services in Nuh have been suspended from August 26 to August 29. Additionally, schools and colleges in the area have been closed on August 28, and Section 144 has been extended to bolster security. Security forces are maintaining a strong presence around mosques and throughout the district. Approximately 700 Haryana Police personnel and 13 paramilitary companies have been stationed in the area. Authorities are also urging the local population to offer prayers at their village temples instead of congregating at the Nalhar temple in Nuh. The Nalhar temple has been heavily fortified to prevent large gatherings, and measures have been taken to encourage the minority population to remain indoors during this time. Amidst these preparations, Ferozepur Jhirka MLA Mamman Khan is under scrutiny due to his alleged involvement in communal clashes that occurred on July 31. He has been summoned to join the ongoing investigation into the matter.
