Guest Teachers’ Association Stages Protest

The office bearers of Taluk Primary and High School Guest Teachers’ Association staged a protest and submitted a letter of appeal to the Tahsildar demanding that the Government take immediate action to fulfill the various demands of the guest teachers.

The protesters took out a procession from Ambedkar statue to the Taluk Office. Taluk President BS Mahesh Kumar said that for the last 10-12 years, the association is making several requests to the Government to fulfill the various demands.  The guest teachers have been doing honest service for the educational life of the children without any facility from the department.

A protest was also made in the Freedom Park at Bengaluru during March and July 2023.  The Senor officials of School Education and Literacy Department visited the place and received our appeal, gave assurances about fulfillment of our demands.  A meeting was also held in the present of Minister Madhu Bangarappa.  The Minister also gave appropriate assurances and even today not a single demand has been fulfilled, he said.

Salary should be paid properly every month. Attendance of guest teachers should be merged with attendance of regular teachers. The guest teachers should also be given the various trainings offered by the department, Mahesh Kumar said.

General Secretary J Shivakumar, Vice President Chunchanna, Social Activist Talagawadi Prakash, Puttaraju, Vani, Shivamma, Vishakanthamurthy, Dirvya, Sarath and others were present.
