Four Government Schools Selected Under PM SHRI Scheme

Four government schools will be upgraded with all basic facilities under Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme in the   district. The programme has been launched by the ministry of education.
These shortlisted schools will now be developed into model schools wherein students will be trained with high quality education, and other co-curricular activities. These schools will be equipped with smart classrooms and improved infrastructure.
According to sources, 14,000 schools in the country have been selected for the project and 129 schools have been identified in the state. Among these, MPS School of Amaragol, HPS School of Yaliwal, MPS School of Galagihulakoppa village and Alanavar HPS No. 2 school have been selected for this project.
A proposal of 25 schools was submitted for the selection of PM SHRI scheme from the district. In the first phase, four schools were shortlisted and will be equipped with good facilities including infrastructure, quality teaching and learning tools.
Education Department’s Deputy Project Coordinator for Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan SM Hudedamani told that for the redevelopment of all four identified government schools in the district, an estimated cost of Rs 53 lakh each will be spent in the first phase. The grant will be released in a phased manner in the coming days. Even before the election, action plans related to the development of schools have been given to PM SHRI Yojana. Schools will be developed based on this. The selected schools are currently engaged in various activities in partnership with people.
GMP School, Amargol in-charge Head Master Basavaraj Bommannawadi said that the selected schools will be developed on the basis of National Education Policy (NEP) elements through the PM SHRI yojana.
