Informing that a pilot project of Geo Artificial Intelligence and Random Forest technologies has been launched in Bengaluru by the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) to monitor and predict the city’s air quality, Prof. PG Diwakar, ISRO Chair Professor, National Institute of Advanced Studies, said that going forward, the same will be implemented in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and other cities across India. Prof. Diwakar announced this at India Clean Air Summit (ICAS) 2023, a premier event on air pollution, organised by the Centre for Air Pollution Studies (CAPS) at the Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP). These technological interventions and computer-based tools are being harnessed in India to pool data from different sources. Elaborating on the development, Prof. Diwakar said, We’ve launched a pilot project right here in Bengaluru, evaluating its effectiveness.
