Traveling home for Ganesha Chaturthi just got a little easier for thousands of people. The South Western Railway has announced a new special train service to run between Yesvantpur and Bidar. This move is designed to handle the heavy festival crowd and make sure everyone can reach their hometowns safely and comfortably without facing extreme travel trouble.
The special train will feature 18 coaches in total. Passengers can book tickets across nine sleeper class coaches and seven general second class coaches. There are also two extra coaches reserved for luggage and passengers with disabilities.
If you are planning to book a ticket, note down the timings carefully. Train number 06589 will leave from Yesvantpur at eleven fifteen tonight and will arrive in Bidar tomorrow afternoon at two fifteen. For the return journey, train number 06590 will depart from Bidar at four tomorrow evening and pull into Yesvantpur early Sunday morning at five thirty.
During its long journey across the state, this special express train will stop at several major stations in both directions. These stops include Yelahanka, Hindupur, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Guntakal, Adoni, Mantralayam Road, Raichur, Krishna, Yadgir, Shahabad, Kalaburagi, and Humnabad. Officials hope these multiple stops will help passengers from different towns easily board the train.
At the same time, authorities have shared an important warning about delays on other routes. If you are traveling on certain regular trains this week, you might face some waiting time. Important services like the KSR Bengaluru to Hubballi train, the Yesvantpur to Sindhanur service, the KSR Bengaluru to Belagavi train, and the Yesvantpur to Vijayapura route will face delays. These delays are expected to last between fifteen and ninety minutes.
The changes are happening because of ongoing railway infrastructure development and track work near the Tiptur area. This essential maintenance work is scheduled to wrap up soon, but passengers traveling between September tenth and twelfth should plan their journeys with extra time in mind. Railway officials have advised all travelers to check their train schedules before heading to the station to avoid any last-minute stress.
