Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju took a light-hearted dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over swimming in Arunachal Pradesh’s fast-flowing rivers. Sharing a video of himself swimming, Rijiju said such activities were part of his routine since childhood and “child’s play” for him. Rijiju said Gandhi might need training before attempting similar activities. He also cautioned people against entering deep water without knowing how to swim, noting that Arunachal’s rivers are large and very deep. Explaining the difference between river and pool swimming, Rijiju said swimmers in strong currents should keep their heads up and maintain a more upright body position. His comments continued the friendly fitness exchanges between him and Gandhi, who have previously discussed workouts and jiu-jitsu.
