Ensure mandatory work for labourers under the VB-G RAM G scheme

Belagavi

Belagavi Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rahul Shinde has directed officials to ensure that work is mandatorily provided to all eligible labourers under the VB-G RAM G scheme and that e-Swathu applications are processed and distributed without delay.

Shinde issued the directions during his visit to the Nilaji and Honaga Gram Panchayat offices in the taluk on Thursday. He inspected various development works being carried out under the VB-G RAM G scheme and reviewed their progress with local officials and staff.

During the inspection, Shinde stressed the need to ensure that eligible workers receive employment opportunities under the scheme. He instructed officials to identify beneficiaries properly and take necessary steps to provide work to labourers without unnecessary delays. He said the implementation of government employment programmes should remain transparent and focused on the needs of rural residents.

Shinde also reviewed the progress of e-Swathu applications at the Gram Panchayat offices. He directed officials to process pending applications quickly and ensure that documents are delivered to applicants at the earliest. He said unnecessary delays in issuing e-Swathu documents could inconvenience residents and directed the concerned staff to give priority to pending cases.

The ZP CEO cautioned officials against providing incorrect or misleading information to members of the public regarding the VB-G RAM G scheme and e-Swathu services. He said officials must clearly explain the procedures, eligibility requirements and benefits available to residents and ensure that people are not forced to make repeated visits to government offices.

Shinde further instructed the officials to strictly follow government guidelines while implementing both programmes. He emphasised that timely delivery of services and effective implementation at the Gram Panchayat level were essential for building public confidence in government schemes.

The visit was aimed at reviewing the ground-level implementation of rural development programmes and identifying issues requiring immediate attention. Officials were directed to take prompt corrective measures wherever shortcomings were noticed.
