232.85 km of footpaths cleared in BNCC limits

The Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) has cleared 232.85 km of footpaths of encroachments between July 1 and August 20, as part of its ongoing drive to ensure safe pedestrian movement. On Thursday, officials cleared 4 km of footpaths in Vidyaranyapura and Pulikeshinagar divisions. The operation involved 2 JCBs, 8 tractors and 24 personnel. Two petty shops, eight push carts, eight canopies, 15 steps and ramps, and six advertisement boards were removed. Around 41 tonnes of construction debris and soil were cleared. Overall, the drive has removed 586 shops, 788 push carts, 1,729 canopies, 1,565 steps and ramps, and 1,598 advertisement boards.
