Former Karnataka minister and former Deputy Speaker C. Veeranna passed away on Saturday at the age of 89 following age-related health issues. He breathed his last at his residence in Bukkapattana village of Koratagere taluk, where he had been leading a quiet life after retirement. Veeranna represented the Koratagere Assembly constituency and served as a minister in the cabinets of former Chief Ministers Ramakrishna Hegde and S.R. Bommai. After stepping away from active politics, he devoted his time to agriculture in his native village. His last rites are scheduled to be held at 4 pm on Saturday at his farmland in Bukkapattana.
