Oregon withdraws delay request in Paramount merger case

PORTLAND

Oregon’s Attorney General has withdrawn a court request to delay Paramount’s planned 110 billion dollar takeover of Warner Bros. Officials said Paramount refused to provide requested records and would not cooperate with the investigation. The state is now considering its next legal action. Paramount welcomed the decision, calling the merger lawful and good for competition. However, the deal still faces review from other states over possible competition concerns. The merger has also raised worries among Hollywood workers, including actors and writers, who fear job losses if the companies successfully join together.
