Ajay Devgn defies critics with Dhamaal 4

Ajay Devgn’s highly anticipated comedy film Dhamaal 4 made a profitable start at the domestic box office. Despite receiving highly mixed reviews from film critics upon its grand theatrical release, the multi-starrer comedy caper managed to overcome sluggish advance ticket sales to register a fair opening-day collection.

According to early trade estimates, the latest installment in the hit franchise collected a notable Rs 15.5 crore nett across the country. Box office analysts highlighted that the film’s first-day performance closely mirrored the box office trajectory of Akshay Kumar’s recent multi-starrer Welcome to the Jungle. Both commercial comedies suffered from weak pre-sales booking trends but ultimately recorded solid opening numbers. This success was heavily driven by a massive surge in walk-in audiences and excellent theater occupancy across major mass entertainment centers.

The theatrical footprint of Dhamaal 4 expanded rapidly as the day progressed. Ticket sales started quietly during the morning shows but witnessed sharp growth in the evening, eventually peaking during late-night screenings in key territories like Delhi-NCR and Maharashtra. This building momentum suggests that family audiences are embracing the slapstick entertainer as a lighthearted stressbuster for the weekend.

Experts project a very strong first weekend for the project, noting a solid jump in online ticket bookings the next morning. Directed by veteran filmmaker Indra Kumar, the adventure-comedy thrives on its established franchise value and nostalgic appeal. The film features a massive ensemble cast including Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Mishra, Arshad Warsi, Anjali Anand, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Esha Gupta in pivotal roles. While a few critical gags failed to land perfectly, the movie comfortably outperformed several recent Bollywood releases. Moving forward, the production team expects healthy financial growth over Saturday and Sunday, paving a smooth path toward box office recovery.
