Mangaluru
Police have identified six Bangladeshi nationals allegedly residing illegally in Surathkal and working at a construction site. Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said the individuals were found during intensified inspections targeting illegal immigrants in the coastal region. A report has been sent to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), which will issue necessary orders for taking the individuals into custody and initiating deportation proceedings under the law. Authorities said the six were staying without valid documents and are currently under investigation. Police have stepped up verification drives across the coastal belt to identify undocumented foreign nationals and prevent illegal immigration. Further legal action will be taken after FRRO issues the required directives.
