Shivamogga
Drinking water supply will remain disrupted for another six days in parts of Shivamogga city, affecting around 30% of residents, MLA S.N. Channabasappa said. He inspected repair works at the Krishna Rajendra Water Treatment and Supply Centre in Mandli and said the old clariflocculator system had suffered major damage, causing water leakage and pipeline issues. The Jal Mandali has taken up urgent repairs, with around 45 workers working continuously to restore the system. The civic body is supplying water through 12 tankers, with more tankers to be deployed. Officials urged residents to use water sparingly during the disruption. The damaged 22 MLD treatment unit is being repaired on a priority basis, while plans for a new ₹450 crore modern water treatment facility have been submitted to the government.
