Bidar
Former Union Minister and BJP leader Bhagwant Khuba has criticised Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s recent visit to Bidar, describing it as an “eyewash” and alleging that it failed to address the issues faced by the people of the district.
Khuba claimed that the Chief Minister’s visit did not bring any concrete benefits to Bidar. He accused the Congress government of attempting to divert public attention from its shortcomings by raising political issues related to the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
Khuba alleged that instead of addressing problems such as lack of development, declining law and order, and administrative failures in Karnataka, the Chief Minister was focusing on criticism of the BJP. He urged the state government to concentrate on governance and solving public issues.
Reacting to discussions regarding alleged irregularities in donations related to the Ayodhya Ram Temple, Khuba said that the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had already formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter and that the inquiry was in progress.
The BJP leader also accused the Congress of having a history of opposing issues connected with Hindu sentiments. He questioned the party’s position on matters related to Lord Ram and alleged that Congress leaders had earlier opposed the construction of the Ram Temple and challenged the issue legally.
Khuba referred to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and stated that many BJP workers and supporters of Hindu organisations had contributed and sacrificed during the movement. He alleged that several activists faced imprisonment during the campaign for temple construction.
He also mentioned earlier statements by Congress leaders regarding the Ram Setu issue and accused the party of consistently opposing matters related to Lord Ram.
Khuba appealed to Chief Minister Shivakumar to focus on development, administration, and public welfare rather than engaging in political criticism of the BJP. He said the government should prioritise addressing the concerns of citizens and improving governance across the state.
