A first-year engineering student was seriously injured after a group of youths allegedly entered her house and attacked her with a knife in Chintamani town on Wednesday evening. Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the shocking incident.
According to the complaint, the student was returning home after attending a dance class at around 4.30 p.m. when two youths, identified as Karthik and Vinod, allegedly teased her near her two-wheeler. When she questioned their behaviour, they reportedly tried to misbehave with her. The student pushed one of them away in self-defence before returning home and informing her mother about what had happened.
Later, at around 8.30 p.m., the two accused allegedly returned with several others and entered the student’s house. They reportedly abused her, threatened her, and questioned why she had confronted them earlier. During the argument, Karthik allegedly stabbed the student in the stomach, leaving her seriously injured.
She was first treated at a nearby hospital before being shifted to the Mother and Child Hospital in Chintamani for further treatment. The victim’s sister also claimed the attackers threatened to kill the family if they reported the matter. Chintamani Nagar Police have registered a case, launched a search for the accused, and continued further investigation.
