Telangana police are coordinating with civic agencies to prevent flooding and traffic disruptions during heavy monsoon rains.
HYDERABAD
With heavy monsoon rains hitting the state, Telangana’s top police official is taking no chances. Director General of Police C.V. Anand met with city leaders to build a solid shield against urban flooding and the chaotic traffic jams that usually follow.
During a major meeting in Malkampet, DGP Anand ordered multiple departments to work as one team. He told officers to watch low-lying zones and busy roads like hawks. The goal is simple, keep vehicles moving and keep citizens safe. If a road floods, the police must instantly share alternative routes with the public. Emergency response teams are now on high alert, ready to jump into action the moment a storm hits.
To fix things on the ground, special engineering teams are already inspecting troubled areas. They are visiting known flood hotspots, including Khajaguda Lake and regions near Biodiversity Junction. These teams will check blocked drains, illegal constructions, and bad water flow, then quickly submit reports with quick fixes and permanent solutions.
Government Advisor Sudarshan Reddy and top municipal chiefs also attended the session. The DGP sent a very clear message to every officer stating, zero negligence will be tolerated. Public safety is the absolute number one priority until the rainy season ends. With better coordination between the police, water experts, and city planners, Hyderabad aims to stay dry and moving this year.
