Community unites for Environment Day plantation initiative

A large-scale sapling distribution drive marked World Environment Day in the city, where young leader and businessman Kartik Shiglimath led an initiative promoting environmental awareness and community participation.

Speaking at the event, Shiglimath said the trees planted today would become a meaningful gift for future generations. He stressed that a clean and green environment is essential for building a healthy society. Supporting the Ek Peed Maa Ke Naam campaign, he urged people to plant and nurture a sapling in their mother’s name.

The campaign grew significantly this year. After distributing 111 saplings last year, organizers expanded the effort and handed out 222 saplings, encouraging more residents to join the movement for environmental protection.

Businessman Sanmit Shah said such activities send a positive message to society. He noted that protecting nature is not only the government’s responsibility but also a duty that every citizen should proudly share. Present on the occasion were Ishwar Karmudi, Sandesh Gaikwad, Amit Gaikwad, Fakiraddi Poojary and several youths from across the city.
