The Matrushree Industrial Park set up under the Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project in Rekhedaguttu village near Belthangady taluk will be inaugurated on May 31, marking a major milestone in rural industrial development in the region.

The inauguration will be carried out by Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, according to organisers. The project has been developed under the vision of Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade, with the aim of promoting rural employment and strengthening women-led economic initiatives.

Spread across seven acres of land, the industrial park has been built at an estimated cost of ₹71 crore and offers a built-up area of around 1.5 lakh square feet. It will function as a production and manufacturing hub for units under the ‘Siri’ Gramodyoga Samsthe, which has been working since 2004.

Officials said the initiative has already provided employment opportunities to more than 1,000 rural women, enabling them to achieve financial independence through small-scale production activities. The new industrial park is expected to expand production capacity and improve market reach for its products.

The facility brings together various manufacturing units under one roof, focusing on producing quality goods at affordable prices. The integrated model is designed to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance coordination between different production lines.

Organisers stated that the long-term vision of the project is to strengthen rural livelihoods by promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship, particularly among women. The initiative aligns with broader goals of rural development and inclusive economic growth.

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade said the project reflects the idea that villages become prosperous when women become economically independent, reinforcing the mission of building self-reliant rural communities.

The inauguration is expected to attract participation from officials, community leaders and beneficiaries of the programme, highlighting its significance as a model for rural industrial development in Karnataka.
