Private bus travel will soon become costlier as owners announced an inevitable fare hike which was announced very recently. District Private Bus Owners Association President B.A. Lingareddy stated that skyrocketing fuel prices, doubled RTO fees, and expensive spare parts have forced this decision. Additionally, the government’s Shakti Yojana free-travel scheme has reduced female ridership in private buses, causing daily losses of ₹2,000 per vehicle. Following a major crisis meeting at the Bharat Scouts and Guides premises, association leaders expressed deep frustration over the lack of government tax support and confirmed that the new ticket prices will be announced shortly.
