Shivamogga
A one-year-old male deer died after being hit by a car near Balekoppa in Narasimharajapura taluk on the Shivamogga–Narasimharajapura main road. According to reports, the deer suddenly crossed the road and was struck by a passing car, resulting in fatal injuries. The driver did not stop the vehicle after the incident, while local residents immediately informed the Forest Department. Officials from Badagabailu and Souselavani forest ranges visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A mahazar was carried out at the scene, and further action will be taken as per forest department procedures. A post-mortem examination of the deer will be conducted, officials said. Forest authorities noted that further procedures will follow based on the findings of the investigation.
