MANGALURU
The Mangaluru police arrested Duniya Shareef alias Mohammed Shareef, 52, a Bantwal resident, after he returned from abroad. He was an accused in a 2014 case under IPC Section 306 and had been absconding after getting bail. A court had issued a warrant as he failed to appear for trial and fled overseas. Police say he was traced and detained on May 5 with help from Mumbai Sahara police. He was produced before a magistrate on May 6 and remanded to judicial custody.
