Savita Samaj demands justice for injured devotees

Gadag

Members of Kranti Sena and Gadag district Savita Samaj staged a strong protest in connection with the alleged fair yard tragedy at Sri Tontadarya Math. They said devotees who came for blessings are now injured and receiving treatment in hospitals after a disturbing incident at the fair site.

The group criticized both the temple management and district administration for not responding quickly and not visiting the injured in hospital. They demanded compensation of ten lakh rupees from the Math and five lakh rupees from the government for affected families. Speakers warned that if justice is delayed they will launch a stronger agitation across Gadag district. Officials said they have noted the concerns and assured that a hospital visit and review action will be taken soon. Several youth leaders and social workers also participated and continued to support the demand for justice and accountability in the matter.

Organizers said the incident has deeply affected rural devotees who had come with faith and expectations to the religious fair. They added that poor families are struggling to manage medical expenses and daily needs after the sudden tragedy. Activists insisted that immediate government intervention is necessary to prevent further hardship and ensure proper treatment for all victims. The organizations also said they will continue monitoring the situation until all injured persons recover fully and receive compensation.

Local leaders called for unity among villagers to support peaceful protest and demand accountability from authorities and institutions involved. Community members said they will not withdraw agitation unless clear action is taken and justice is delivered without further delay. Protesters vowed continued peaceful struggle.
