Ollie Robinson eyeing big England test return

LONDON

England’s tall fast bowler, Ollie Robinson, is feeling more ready than ever to reclaim his place in the national Test squad. After some time away from the team, the 32-year-old says positive feedback from head coach Brendon McCullum and selector James Taylor has reignited his passion for the game.

Robinson revealed that a simple text from “Baz” McCullum at the start of the season changed everything. The message assured him that the “door is still open,” giving him the confidence he needed to prove himself again. National selector James Taylor also encouraged him to “knock the door down” by taking wickets in domestic matches.

So far, Robinson is doing exactly that. Captaining Sussex this season, he has already taken 11 wickets in just four matches. He also stunned fans by smashing his second first-class century recently, proving he is a threat with both the ball and the bat.

Robinson admitted that he previously thought his international career might be over after a difficult tour of India in 2024. However, he now says those worries are behind him. He feels more mature, physically fit, and completely focused on cricket.

With England’s summer schedule against New Zealand and Pakistan approaching, Robinson is working hard to make sure his name is the first one coaches think of. He’s found his love for the game again and is waiting for that one important phone call to wear the England whites once more.
