Mega event to honor Yediyurappa’s 50-year career

Yediyurappa’s Golden Milestone

KALABURAGI

A massive celebration titled “BSY Abhimanotsava” is set to take place on May 9 in Chitradurga to honor former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa. The event marks his incredible 50-year journey in public life. According to BJP district president Ashok Bagali, over 10 lakh people from across the state are expected to attend the non-political gathering.

Supporters from all nine constituencies of Kalaburagi are preparing to travel in large numbers for the mega convention. Leaders highlighted Yediyurappa’s deep impact on the region, particularly his role in renaming it “Kalyana Karnataka” and securing funds for projects like the new Anubhava Mantapa. “He is a leader who always put farmers first, even taking his oath in their name,” Bagali noted during a press conference.

The celebration will begin a day early on May 8 with a grand “mini-Dasara” style procession through the streets of Chitradurga. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to attend the main event on Saturday to personally felicitate the veteran leader. Organizers emphasized that the venue was chosen for its central location, making it easy for followers from both North and South Karnataka to join.

The event is being viewed as a tribute to a man who spent nearly 45 years in the opposition before leading the state. With over 1,000 religious leaders invited, the “Abhimanotsava” promises to be one of the largest cultural and social gatherings the region has seen in recent years.
