LIVERPOOL
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has warned that his side will not give up on the Premier League title, even after a chaotic 3-3 draw with Everton dented their championship hopes. The result leaves City five points behind leaders Arsenal with only four games remaining.
The match at Hill Dickinson Stadium was a tale of two halves. City dominated early on, leading at the break thanks to a Jérémy Doku strike. However, the game flipped during a disastrous thirteen-minute spell in the second half. Everton’s Thierno Barry came off the bench to score twice, alongside a goal from Jake O’Brien, leaving the champions stunned and trailing 3-1.
Refusing to fold, City launched a late rescue mission. Erling Haaland pulled one back in the 83rd minute, and Doku secured his second of the night with a dramatic equalizer deep in stoppage time. While the comeback showed heart, Guardiola admitted that the title race is no longer in their hands.
“A point is better than none, but we wanted the win,” Guardiola said after the final whistle. He praised his players’ “never-die” attitude but noted that defensive errors and Everton’s aggression proved costly. Guardiola emphasized that while the path to the trophy has become much harder, his team must maintain their focus and passion. City now prepares for a must-win clash against Brentford, hoping for a late twist in a season that is coming down to the wire.
