Iran executes 2 men accused of spying for Israel

TEHRAN

Iran has executed two men accused of spying for Israel, state-linked media reported on Saturday. The judiciary said Yaghoub Karimpour and Nasser Bakarzadeh were found guilty of cooperating with Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad. Karimpour was accused of passing sensitive information to a Mossad officer. Bakarzadeh was accused of collecting details on government and religious figures and important sites, including areas near the Natanz nuclear facility in Isfahan province. Both men were hanged after conviction, officials said. The case has added tension as Iran continues to face security concerns linked to espionage allegations involving foreign intelligence services.
