A Lokayukta police raid in Koppal has led to the arrest of two people, including an employee of the Regional Transport Office (RTO), on bribery charges.
The arrested individuals are Ranjit Sahajananda, a second-grade assistant at the Koppal RTO, and Vinayakumar, a private driving school clerk.
According to officials, the case came to light after complainant Naeem Akram K.S. informed the Lokayukta police that a bribe of ₹21,000 was demanded for issuing trade licenses for vehicle showrooms. The money was allegedly received through a digital payment platform.
The operation was carried out by a team led by DySP Lokesh under the supervision of Lokayukta SP Siddharaju C., with inspectors Chandrappa and Shaila S. Patil Shettar participating in the raid.
Authorities confirmed that both accused have been taken into custody and further investigation is in progress to trace any wider network involved in the bribery case. Officials said strict action will follow based on findings of the ongoing probe.
